Hello All! Since my first blogathon was a great success I am very proud to announce I have decided to  host another!  For those of you who don’t already know, despite being American I am a bonafide Royalist and absolutely love the British Royal Family. Deciding to combine my two great loves, Royalty and Film, the theme for this blogathon will be “Royalty on Film” starting on the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation- June 2 and ending on June 5

The Rules are:

  1. The Royalty you choose to write up about can be real- an actor portraying a real life figure OR it can be fictional/ fantastical- like in Roman Holiday or The Swan
  2. No documentaries allowed! This is a fictional portrayal of royalty
  3. Animated cartoons are allowed- I would love to see some Disney Princess entries!
  4. Biopics about royalty are allowed as are silent pictures!!
  5. No Duplicates Please!

Submit entries any time between the dates of June 2- 5 2016 and you can do so by commenting on the page, by twitter, or by email.

        Your choice is fine and I very much welcome it 🙂 ! I’m stumped- I don’t know of any noirs that crossed paths with royalty- not even any British noir.

      9. It’s a film I still haven’t seen. Hayworth had such a mess of a life in so many ways, and Welles may have loved her, but making her cut off her hair and bleach it for Lady from Shanghai always seems like abuse. Anyhow, I’ll write something fab on it.

  3. Great idea for a blogathon! So many great films to choose from. I’d like to do The King and I. I didn’t realize how highly fictionalized the story was until I read about the real King Mongkut and Anna Leonowens, so I think I might compare his portrayal in the movie to the person in real life.

  15. The first question I have is Does it have to be Earthly royalty? One of the first ones I thought of was the 1980 film “Flash Gordon” which featured Max von Sydow as Emperor Ming.

      Got it- thanks! Glad you’re writing about Will and Kate- I’ve seen both the lifetime and the hallmark tele-movies-But I have not seen the Diana movie- looking forward to your post!

  27. Very good point. I hadn’t thought of that as I was thinking on the series as a whole. However, the first film is clearly best, and it gives me the most fodder to discuss. Thank you Looking forward to it!

  34. Hey Emily. Would I be able to change my topics? And also, as time permits I’m sadly not going to have the time to do three entries. However I’m still happy to do two posts but on two different entries because my original choices would be so long to write about as I like to give a detailed account, especially when things are hectic. So if it’s alright, I’ll pick two different films?
